Invigorate the Common Well
Episode #1:Come to the Well - 2006
Water
is essential to all of life on our planet, human and non-human.
Water is literally our common wealth.
This unique three-episode performance series brings us together to give
thanks to Water as we grapple with issues of water quality, quantity, and
ownership.
From “Out of Order” to “Flowing with Beauty and Generosity”
Through the emblematic action of restoring the Avalon Theatre’s defunct
public drinking fountain, we call for restoring the health of this invaluable,
irreplaceable global resource. Each episode features mini-performances,
installations and a hands-on “lab” of practical actions and
questions, as well as ideas for community advocacy.
Grounded in the science - yet flowing with the spirit - of Water, Invigorate
the Common Well is a theatrical and civic experience that will inform and
inspire all ages to stewardship and action.
Episode #1:
Come to the Well
When Water is Frozen - March 2 - 25, 2007
Listen to the Water. Is Water a right, or a privilege? How much Water
do humans need, and how much do we actually use? What does Water have to
do with global warming?
"If wars in this century were fought over oil, the wars
of the next century will be fought over water"
