Saturday Morning Puppet Shows for Kids!

Puppets by Gustavo BoadaAnother colorful, affordable season of live Saturday Puppet Shows for Kids begins October 22 at HOBT. Nearly every Saturday through March, different artists perform engaging puppet shows at 10am and noon. A great alternative to television, these performances will delight kids of all ages. Families can also attend hands-on Make-n-Take puppet workshops based on that day's puppet show theme.

  • $2 suggested donation for youth who live or go to school in the Central, Corcoran, Phillips or Powderhorn neighborhoods, and their families.
  • If you live elsewhere, a $4 donation is requested.
  • Show times: 10 AM & Noon
  • Make-n-Take workshops: 11 am - Admission is $5/child, $3/adult
  • Season runs October - March

Please note: shows are in English unless specified, but you’ll find children love puppets regardless of language!

After the Show

Saturday Puppet Workshops

Come for the show and stay for the “Make-n-Take” workshop based on that day’s puppet show theme. Workshops are a family activity offered in our classroom at 11 am each Saturday morning.

  • Admission is $5/person.
  • Registration for workshops are recommended and can be made in advance at the 10am show or by calling 612-721-2535 the previous week.

HOBT classroom available for birthday parties

Looking for something new and different to celebrate your child's birthday this year?  Bring party guests to see our regularly scheduled Saturday Puppet Show, participate in the artist led Make-n-Take workshop, and stay for a party in our classroom!
  • HOBT birthday parties are the best! They begin at 11 am with a Make & Take workshop at our studio classroom at Plaza Verde after which the children attend the noon performance of that Saturday's puppet show back at the Theatre. After the show, the birthday group returns to Plaza Verde for a one-hour room rental for their special party.
  • $140 for up to 10 guests (including adults); each additional guest is $9.
  • If you live in Powderhorn, Central, Phillips or Corcoran the price is only $120 and each additional guest (including adults) is $7.
  • We provide the room and polka dotted table coverings while you provide the refreshments and fun. Price covers 10 guests for the puppet show and Make-n-Take, plus one-hour room rental.
