The Beaver Day Parade is coming, and HoBT is helping get the puppet population ready!

Join us for one, two or both FREE puppet-building workshops and create a large beaver puppet — or another marvelous wetland friend — to bring to the parade. 🐸🦆🐟🌿

Experienced puppet makers will be there to help you work from a template or dream up a creature of your own. You'll also learn about beavers and their ecosystems from experts and researchers who'll be building right alongside us! 🦫💡

The Beaver Day Parade is a community gathering and puppet parade on the banks of the Mississippi River. This event will connect enthusiasts, experts, artists, and neighbors in celebrating beavers and learning more about all that beavers do as ecosystem engineers in the Twin Cities and beyond. We have two free puppet build workshops open to the public leading up to parade day. Experienced puppet makers can help you create a large beaver puppet (or other wetland friend) using one of our templates, or you can create your own puppet/costume elements. You will learn about beavers and their ecosystems to inspire your puppet creations. Materials provided including cardboard and paper mâché; all ages welcome (kids with parental supervision). Take your creation with you at the end of the workshop to finish at home and wear in the parade!
