Our Artist Training Workshops were - a huge success!

This Summer, we offered six artists training workshops, open to community artists, teachers and practitioners who were interested in sharpening their puppetry skills.

We were fortunate to welcome artists Kurn Hunter, Bart Buch, Michael Sommers, Erica Warren, Gustavo Boada, Lys Akerman-Frank, Tara Fahey, Felicia Cooper, Lizz Windnagel and Elina Kotlyar, who presented on such topics as molding from clay, puppet mechanisms, shadow puppetry, hand puppets, and object movement.

Two other sessions focused on Teaching Puppetry in the Classroom and Teaching in Disabled and Neurodivergent Spaces.

These workshops were funded by Minnesota State Arts Board and were made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
